Update

Well, here it is March already! I'm sooooo ready for Spring! In my classroom we have started counting down the days. I think it's something like 16 days until the first day of Spring, although I've heard that doesn't really mean anything here in Louisville. Apparently we are still likely to get snow. :( It never really snowed a lot at once, but it sure did snow a little a lot! I'm ready for flip flops and days spent outside.

I am on another countdown now, too. Aaron has about 78 days left until graduation. At the rate we are going, May 20 will be here before I can blink! We are so excited about this upcoming milestone. God has truly blessed us as we've been on this journey. I really don't give Him the praise He deserves for how much He has cared and provided for us during these last 2 years. I'm so grateful. Some of you may be asking what we are planning to do since graduation is looming. Good question! We have learned of two other possibilities recently (in addition to the IMB) that we are praying about. We will see where God leads. We ask that you pray with us as we seek to obey God. We need much wisdom and discernment over the next few months. In the meantime, we have decided that there's no need to wait until Aaron finishes school to "do missions." We have been attending Highview's Indiana Hispanic Campus since last May, but we have recently begun attending the Fegenbush Hispanic Campus as well. This has led to changes in where we attend English services also. We were attending Highview East Campus, but have made the move to Fegenbush so that we can leave the English service and walk across the hall to attend the Hispanic service. On Sunday nights Aaron and I both are working with some of the youth (all siblings). On Sunday mornings, Aaron is working with one youth boy right now, and I am sitting through the service. I'm hoping that somehow the immersion into Spanish will help my language skills develop. The attendees of the Hispanic campus are certainly keeping me on my toes. Each week they ask me questions in Spanish or try to carry on a conversation with me. Most weeks I have a "deer in the headlights" look on my face, but maybe someday I will understand! I'm at least able to sing most of the songs during worship, even though I have no idea what I'm singing! I'm praying that God will help me to easily learn the Spanish language. :)

Briggs is prodding right along with kindergarten. He is reading with much more confidence now and enjoys math a lot. I was hoping he would love English/reading/writing as much as me. I guess he got his math abilities from Aaron because he sure didn't get any from me! He is into everything Star Wars and Mario Brothers right now. His neighbor friend, Austin, comes outside to play and they run around "killing droids" and fighting for the "light side." :)

I am still very much enjoying my time as a stay at home mom. I hope the Lord will allow me to continue to stay at home in the future. It is such a blessing to be here with Briggs.

Well, supper time is calling so I must go cook!
