Yesterday I graduated from
The Seminary Wives Program from
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I received a certificate in ministry studies. SWI is a wonderful program for the wives of seminary (& Boyce)students started by Mrs. Mary Mohler. We take 13 courses for the regular certificate and 17 hours for the advanced certificate. I was aiming for the advanced certificate, but our time here only allowed for the regular. The perfectionist in me really wanted the advanced, but none the less, I worked hard on Thursday nights to complete all the requirements for the classes. Some of the classes I took inlcuded: Discipleship I & II, Leadership I & II, Biblical Parenting, Cross Cultural Ministry, just to name a few. I enjoyed the classes so much, in fact, that I am thinking since we will still be here in the fall as we work through the process with IMB that I will take more classes. Each class is 6 weeks long, sort of giving an overview of some of the things our husbands are learning while in seminary, while also equipping the wives for ministry as well. I would highly recommend that any seminary wife get enrolled for this wonderful program. Here is a picture of my friend, April, and me after graduation.
